Air in system on Filter, not on Recirculation though.

Postby Joseph79lee » Mon 05 Jun, 2023 07:28

I've noticed that my filter pot next to the pump will slowly fill up with air while the system is set on filter. I've noticed that if I switch the system over to recirculation the air will purge out. Switch back to filter and it will slowly gain air again. What options should I look into to figuring out where my leak is coming from? Could this be a worn/faulty spider gasket in the pump selector? Anything else to check out before I call someone in? Thank you.

I would say firstly that you have a small air leak on the incoming line from skimmer to pump. It leaves when on recirculate as the multiport is not that airtight. Also you have less restriction and a higher flow rate on recirculation.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
