Brown stuff on bottom

Water bugs, swimming insects and sweat bees.
Foaming bubbly water. Frogs in the pool.
Dead animals in the swimming pool.

Brown stuff on bottom

Postby zamboknee » Wed 26 Jul, 2023 17:43

I'm doing daily maintenance on my 8ft x 24" Intex easy set pool.
I use either this shock treament
or this one
I run a brand new Intex C1000 pump filter pretty much continuously (dual inlet setup).
I skim the pool before every session.

When I go to remove the cover of the pool the next day, the water is crystal clear but there's this brown 'sediment' on the bottom of the pool.
I've tried vacuuming it up with this vacuum but I think this brown stuff is too fine to be caught be the vaccum's net.

Any recommendations on how to get this brown stuff out?

Dual inlet setup, no surface skimmer? Dirt arrives from the surface so that is the best place to remove it via a skimmer. Intex make a range to fit their pools so I suggest you invest in one. Then you can vacuum through the skimmer and catch stuff in your filter, if it still too fine to be caught put a fluffy cotton towel in the skimmer basket and that will catch it.

Good to know. Do they make a vaccum that can connect to the inlet of the pool?

Yes they do, but that way youll clog your filter quickly as the filters are quite small and the brown stuff may still pass through, its why I suggested getting the skimmer, you can place a fluffy cotton towel which will trap the brown stuff.

I'll get the skimmer but what can I do in the meantime to get out the stuff that's on the bottom?

There are inline leaf catchers that fit into the manual vacuum line, if you could scrunch a cotton towel into that it would catch it
