Rat in pool

Postby samstuart » Tue 19 Apr, 2011 10:43

I have just found a rat in my pool, it has only been there overnight. Do I need to drain or can I shock and run the pump for a few hours?

Remove the rat, shock the pool, and run the pump. You do not have to drain it. The chlorine will kill any pathogens from the rat.

Pool shocking is a must. Take extra care esp if you have kids entering the pool.

I was cleaning out my pump basket and I found a baby mouse in it. How did it get in there? I think it would have clogged my automatic vacuum. Has this happen to anyone else?
