Chlorine disappears quickly

Postby Guest » Mon 11 Jul, 2005 10:41

The PH and alkalinity are in check, and the water looks pretty good; my problem is that I seem to need to put a great deal more chlorine in the pool this year compared to previous years. It is considerably warmer and sunnier than previous years but I am using 3x the chlorine of previous years. I have heard that I might need to use a stabilizer - what is a stabilizer?[/b]

Stabilizer.....

Stabilizer is used mainly when using unstablized chlorine(usually liquid). This keeps the chlorine from gassing off in the atmosphere more quickly, espeically during extreme sunny peroids........
