Neutralizing water before emptying - how to?

Postby White Laker » Wed 18 Apr, 2007 12:10

Hi folks.

I live on a lake and I have a spa that needs to be emptied. Question is, how do I neutralize the water so that it is totally "friendly" before dumping it in the lake?

Thanks for the info.

so you have what 200 gallons of water.. the lake as how many thousands/millions of gallons? it will burn off clear/clean itself when it is put into the lake. Unless your water is super chorlinated right now it really will do no harm to dump it.

if you are using chlorine, just wait a day or two without adding any chlorine in your spa. after two days, you can dump it on the lake.

if waiting is not an option, the quickest way to lower is by diluting the water in your spa. simply grab a bucket and remove some of the water in your tub. start with one or two buckets full of water. once you have removed the water, refill it with fresh water.
