going on vacation

We are going away for a week. (We live in NC & it's hot). I don't want to run the filter system while we are gone. What should I add to the pool and should I cover it or leave it open?

Why don't you want to run the filter system? Is it not on a timer? If not, get it on a timer. That would be a very bad thing to do when it is hot. The warmer the water the worse the bacteria and algae.

Try to get a neighbor or friend to turn it on and later come back and turn it off.
