Turned green after shock

Postby seriegolf » Fri 21 May, 2021 21:00

Hello all, new to the forums. Opened our pool a few weeks ago, was crystal clear after a few days but then went cloudy. Tested the levels, hardness, TA, PH was all low. Started the process to increase each, one at a time per instructions on chemicals. Tonight the pool was still a big cloudy but clear, added the PH up to get it up a bit and then a little while later added shock. As soon as I added the shock the pool turned a dark brown/green within minutes. Did some research, found that is typically caused by metals reaction, added appropriate dosage of Metal Free purchased as Leslie's. Am I on the right path? How long should this take to start clearing up? Thanks in advance.
