Pool Gauge

Postby FPO23 » Tue 15 Jun, 2021 17:27

Please help me with the reason my pool gauge will not register. Here are the things I've tried:

- I replaced the pool gauge TWICE with new ones. Neither show filter pressure, but test good with the outside hose connection, so my problem isn't the gauges.

- I am getting normal water flow from my returns.

- The skimmer basket is empty and nothing is blocking the suction pipe (that I can tell).

- The pump basket is empty. Nothing is blocking the pipe or the impeller (that I can tell).

- The pump lid gasket has been checked and lubricated. The pump drain plugs are inserted tightly.

- The Jandy valve before the pump that splits the skimmer and main drain has been checked and lubricated.

- I don't see or hear any water leaks on the equipment pad.

- I replaced the MPV valve cover because the handle was hard to turn. No difference in pressure gauge.

- Sight glass and guage are in tight.

What am I missing?

If you have return water then the pump is working OK
There may be a blockage where the gauge screws in. Try running momentarily with no gauge and see if water comes out

Yes, water does come out when the gauge is not in. There is nothing blocking the hole of the gauge and I also have thread seal tape on the gauge. No water escapes when the gauge is in.

Does the water come out under pressure, if so then what is the range of your gauges
It could be possible for the PTFE tape to cover the hole

No tape is covering the hole.
I've tried three gauges at this point. All go up to anywhere between 0 to 60 -160. Normal pressure is about 12 with a clean filter.

You really only need 0-30
If everything is working OK then I don't have any explanation
