Skimmer Cover pops off when pool turns off

Water bugs, swimming insects and sweat bees.
Foaming bubbly water. Frogs in the pool.
Dead animals in the swimming pool.

Skimmer Cover pops off when pool turns off

Hello! I have a 2-year old inground pool. When the pool turns off, the skimmer cover lid pops up and water pours out the hole. What is causing this problem? It does not happen all the time.

Backflow from the pump or filter.

A faulty check valve.
