Water Level Rising When Pump Runs

Postby Jen » Sat 11 Jul, 2020 13:54

Hi there! We run our pump overnight, and for the last few mornings, when I go out to empty the baskets, the water level is significantly higher than it was the night before. I've been backwashing it to lower it back down, but it rises again each night. We do have a little water feature that runs when the pump is on...could that be part of the problem? If so, I'm not sure why this is the first time we've had a problem (feature was installed a year ago). In case this is important, the flapper valve and the O-rings that are part of the backwash lever assembly were recently replaced.

Any advice/ideas would be appreciated - next stop is the home warranty company, which I'd rather not call unless I have to =)

Thanks in advance!

You must have an auto fill which isn't adjusted properly
If you don't have a main connection then it's impossible to raise the water level

Thanks for the response, Dennis! I found the housing for the auto fill (looks like a toilet fill assembly, right?) - is that something I can adjust myself?

What you need to do is check that it isn't letting by and adjust it down lower
If it's letting by you will need to change a washer
There must be a main shut off valve close by which will stop it any way

Hello to all
Ok so Ive installed my new timing belt and moving onto the water pump install
As I was cleaning the water pump bolts I noticed thread seal on two of the bolts

Question
Should I put thread seal on the threads of the bolts?

Thanks in advance your advice

Lets have an image so we can see where you are
I don't think it's necessary, probably a belt and braces by a previous person
