Very fine dirt (sand?)

Postby joegros » Tue 19 Dec, 2006 11:46

I have an inground pool with a cartridge filter. The pool has quite a bit of this very fine dirt on the bottom. My Polaris does not pick up the dirt and manually vacuumning seems not to help. I think the dust (dirt) may be going through the filter right back in the pool. I don't have a way to vacuumn to waste. Any suggestions?

What color is the dust? If its yellow, I would lean towards muster algae. If its dark I would lean towards it being dirt. You could be right about it going through the filter and right back into the pool. I would have some one come out and either vac to waste for you or put in a tee valve in-between the pump and filter so you can vac to waste.

It is dark so I guess it is dirt. Good idea about a T valve. Thanks
