is there such an animal as an control system that monitors the pool water and automatically adjusts the chemicals?

There are automatic dosage systems avilable. They ususally monitor pH and ORP (redox), and use these values to control the pumping of liquid or dissolved chemicals into the return line.

I have found that they require frequent cleaning, maintenance and calibration, so I am not a fan.

I find it easy enough to check and dose the pool twice a week and have never felt that I needed an automated system for my own pool.
