I'm trying to figure out how to vacuum my pool with my current setup, I have the Intex Krystal Clear 12" Sand Filter attached to a Summer Waves Elite 14 x 42 pool, the pool has the skimmer attached to the side. I had purchased the vacuum plate but read that I would have to drill holes to help with the amount of pressure the filter is producing. I did that and still too much pressure, so more turned into more, the pressure still seems to be too much and now there is barely any suction coming out of the vacuum. The basket attached to the sand filter will no stay completely filled up and where I drilled the holes I am getting vortexes forming along with a string suction/draining sound. I am at a loss as to how to vacuum my pool now. I am using the intex vacuum they sell in a kit, so I'm not sure if that is an issue as well. Any ideas?
I've been searching the internet for some answer that would resolve my problem and was wondering would a dedicated vacuum line work with the sand filter that I have or is there not enough suction to add a dedicated vacuum line. The link below I provided is the sand filter I currently have.
