guardex kit 'solution#'s chem instructions

Postby apollos68 » Sat 14 May, 2022 04:55

hi pool forumer's,
question re: 'ph,' instructions. ?what is the solution2 referred to at 'ph' instructions? (see url link)
(the reason i ask is, conversely, the 'chlorine residual,' (to left of 'ph,') says 'solution1' for the chlorine testing which googling shows is listed as 'oto.' (which is in the kit) however, my 'googling research' for the solution2 for 'ph' solution2 doesn't have any results.(none in kit)(kit has 'phenol red,', oto, solution3, and solution5) any comments directed to a solution would be appreciated.

Phenol red is pH solution
Otto is chlorine but remember it measures total chlorine not free available chlorine so near useless in many cases.
Suggest you buy a good test kit like a Taylor k2006 titration kit and throw yours away.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
