How Long, Per Day, Should Pump be Run?

Postby Gruntman » Thu 01 Jun, 2006 23:05

How long per day does the filter pump need to be run on an inground concrete pool?

Perhaps this is one of the newbiest questions I could ask?

Hi, This depends on how much water you have in the pool and how much water the pump will run per minute.

I have a 22,000 u.s. gallon pool and run the filter 6-8 hours per day. When raining I run the filter all the time until the rain stops. I then shock the pool and run again for 24 hours. Then backwash and go back to the 6-8 hours per day.

This also depends on how much use the pool gets. The more use, the longer to run.
