Backwashing Issue......

Hello,

I have an inground 16x32 pool with a standard sand filter. When opening the pool this year, after vacuuming, when I backwash, dirty water and debris come back into the pool through the jets when I am backwashing???

This has never happened before and I can't figure out what the cause could be???

Any help would be appreciated.
