How can I clean the "scum" that has formed inside my chlorinator....thx

I have the same problem and now it isn't putting the chlorine into the pool.

The best way that I have found to clean a salt cell is to mix water and muriatic acid, a 4:1 ratio. Call you local pool company and see if they have a plug for either side of the cell. Pour the acid into the cell and allow about 5 minutes or until the bubbling stops. Pour the acid out and rinse well. Be sure to use rubber gloves and goggles.

I take care of our Y salt pool, 80,000 gallons and the above works every time.
