Hi
Im currently looking at the possibility of using a salt water chlorinator or a mineral chlorinator or mineral pool system.
Ive been talking to some suppliers in China. What im getting from them is that there is no difference between a Salt water chlorinator and a mineral chlorinator. The only difference is the additive to the system.
Im trying to work out how true this is.
It would seem it has some validity on what I have been reading about converting a salt system to a mineral systems.
My questions are:
1. Is this correct?
2. Is a mineral chlorinator considered a "chlorine free" system? Or is it still producing chlorine the same as a salt chlorinator?
Salt Chlorinator vs Mineral pool.

Re: Salt Chlorinator vs Mineral pool.
Both systems are power supplies and electrodes so are similar in that respect but mineral systems are often copper/silver ionisers. There is a danger of staining with these systems and I would never fit one to a plaster, pebbletec, tiled pool as staining is almost certain and monitoring and accurate levels of copper is tricky. Copper doesnt leave the pool water so continues to build in level to a point where it will cause problems which can be expensive to repair.
Yes can be considered chlorine free if you use MPS oxidiser. Just to mention Australia banned any of these systems that couldn't match the bacterial kill times of chlorine which was all of them. If they are used they are used with a low level of chlorine which begs the question why bother with them at all?

I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
