High TA Normal and Stable Ph - What to Do

Postby gregklau » Tue 15 May, 2018 11:49

I have an above ground 24' Round Pool (52" Height) that I use Bromine with. I opened the pool last week and have been getting the water ready. My readings from a Taylor kit are
TA 150
Ph 7.4
CH 150

I have well water and topped off my pool this spring with softened water through my Kinetico Water Softener. My question is, should I be concerned about either the mildly high TA or the low CH? If so, what would be suggested?

If your pH is stable at 7.4 with a TA of 150 then don't worry
If it's raising then it's best to reduce your TA untill your pH stabilises
Low Ch is not a problem with a liner or fibreglass pool

Thank you. I'll keep an eye on the Ph and make sure it's stable and not worry about TA.

Bromine can easily cope with a pH of around 8.2 so no real worries other than why are you using bromine at all?
