Are sulfates a problem in Salt Water Pools?

I was told to stop using dry acid in my salt water pool because it adds sulfates to the water and they stay there. The levels will increase because I have to lower ph regularily.
The sulfates will then create scale.

What kind of scale?
Will it be on the salt cell or the surface?

I dont like to handle liquid acid very much

Muriatic acid is pretty noxious but if you take the correct precautions Gloves, Goggles and Mask you should be OK
Don't use a surgical mask as they are pretty useless for filtering the fumes I use a 3M 4277

You might want to address why your pH rises, do you have a waterfall, fountain or other aerator

Did you not read the link.
Prolonged use will attack cement grouts, tile beds, screeds, rendering and concrete.
The problem is not as bad with fibreglass and vinyl pool but crystals will form after prolonged use and will be difficult to remove without reverse osmosis or water change
I think your first priority would be to determine why your pH keeps rising (you didn't comment on waterfall, fountain or other aerator)

Thank. No just a salt water pool. No waterfalls etc. I assumed that ph rising was a normal occurrence with salt. I was told it creates chlorine and a high ph at the same time. Actually twice as much high ph for every pound of chlorine created. That is why I had to use a ph reducer reguarily

What is your TA as lowering it may help reduce your rising pH

The pool is closed now but I was maintaining it about 80

When you open again try lowering it to 50ppm
A lot of people who get raising pH have dropped it to 50ppm
A lower TA will not be a problem if you stabilise your pH
