Cloudy water

Postby larryinlima » Sun 10 Jun, 2007 19:36

I have an inground pool 17X35 33,000 gal of water. Since opening the pool, I have not been able to achieve clear water. I've had samples tested three times. The first time I had to add calcium and alkalinity increaser. Now the test in normal.

I have an ionizer in leu of chlorine. This is a cement bottom pool that is 4 feet in the shallow end and 8 feet in the deep end. I have tried clairifier with some success. There is a residue on the walls of the pool. Brushing does no good, but if you use your foot, it seems to streak it.

I had my neighbor over and he suggested a good dose of chlorine which I'm going to try. This is the first full year for our pool and I'm frustrated that I cannot get the water looking like it did last year.

I really don't know a thing about ionizers, but it sure could be that you need to shock with liquid chlorine.
