ph/total akalinity

My ph fluctuates often. I have a newly plastered pool and was told this will occur for a few years. I have been noticing some scaling or calcium build up especially under the overflow from the hot tub. Today I checked the total akalinity and ph. The ph was within range but my ta was low, 5 drops of solution to make blue color from testing kit to change to clear or yellow.

Do I need to get my ta in line before trying to get ph regulated and can this problem be problem with calcium build up/scalingf?

Yes. TA acts as a buffer for ph. If it's not in range your ph can easily bounce all over the scale.

That's why it's so important to test daily. It takes so little time and can help keep your pool pristine and in tip top shape as you adjust when needed.

If you post your numbers it's better for us to analyze. Colors and number of drops mean nothing to me, as I don't use a kit that uses those colors and have no idea how many drops your test kit equates to in ppm.
I'm assuming 50 ppm. If so, yes, that is low and you need to bring it up.
