HELP

My pool has been turning green on the bottom i get rid of it and vacuum on waste then in two days the green is back when i have my water tested they say it is fine, untill last week when i had it tested they said my alk was low and my ph was low so they told me to up my alk first then wait two hours and up my ph. When i put ph up in it it went milky white and is still that way. Please help

Using your test kit, please post a full set of number. Chlorine, ph, ta, CYA, hardness, etc. Also what kind of pool, how many gallons and what kind of filter.

All I have is a test strip kit

Here are the readings
TA 70
PH 6.7
Cynuric Acid 60
Hardness 200
Chlorine 8.2
Free Chlorine 8.2


Pool Place said add 1lb and 7 oz of ph up
and said to add 7 lbs of TA increaser
After doing this my water turned milk white

first, get yourself a test kit, Taylor K2006 is a good one.

second, what did you use as your chlorine source? trichlor, dichlor, or.....

Can I use somethimg else beside ph up to raise my PH
The last time i used Ph UP my water was so cloudy you couldnt see the first step.
Current PH 6.9
24 ft above ground 13600 gallons

Borax (Yup...20 Mule Team) will raise your ph while leaving your TA relatively alone.

Baking Soda (Yup...Arm & Hammer) will raise TA and leave your ph mostly alone.

Washing Soda (Also Arm & Hammer) will raise both.

Muriatic Acid from Home Depot will bring it all down.
