Is the chlorine meant to be this colour?

Postby prohperty » Sat 04 Sep, 2021 01:20

Hello, I've recently purchased a property and learning to maintain a pool for the first time.

I have a chlorine dispenser, and it appears to be drawing chlorine from the blue tank but the contents of that tank is a yellow/green liquid. I am assuming this is the chlorine, but should it be this colour? I am guessing not but asking for some guidance.

Thanks in advance!

Looks fine to me, depending on the age will affect the strength
Test with a sample of tap water and see if it raises the chlorine level

Oh I didn't know chlorine was meant to be this colour as it looked like algae but thank you!

Don't forget to test it as it may be old and not as effective

I also experienced the same thing, I thought the swimming pool chlorine was contaminated but it turned out to be that color.
