I assume you shocked the pool and the water is now clear so you want lower chlorine levels to swim, is that right? Generally, just exposing the pool to sunlight will cut down the chlorine level by almost half in a day. That's the easiest thing to do. If you have Cyanuric Acid (CYA) in the water, then you can go swimming even at rather high chlorine levels and can certainly go in when it's below 10 ppm Free Chlorine (FC).
