Chlorine Calculation
I have a 28,000 gallon in ground pool. If I start out with zero chlorine when I open the pool how much should I initially add? What should the nornal level of Chlorine be? Thanks.
you would have to add 174oz/1 1/2 gal of liquid chlorine and want to keep it at 3 for free chlorine reading.
here is a site with pool calculator which can figure out how much of something you need or can get rid of by you putting in your pool readings.
www. poolcalculator. com
just copy and paste in your browser and remove spaces between dot and letter
If you do not know what abreviation for something is you can click on it and it will explain.
Make sure you buy a good chemical test kit that gives these readings
FC-Free Chlorine-level
TC-Total Chlorine
CC-Combined Chlorine
PH-reading
TA-reading
CYA-Conditioner, protects chlorine
CH-Calcium Hardness
Taylor makes a good one

Click HERE[/url] and download Bleachcalc. It will tell you the exact amount to add based on your pool size and chlorine strength.
