How long before I get a CL reading

Chlorinating, maintaining the right chlorine levels,
chlorine problems. Dichlor, trichlor, cal hypo, bleach,
granules, chlorine pucks and chlorine sticks.

How long before I get a CL reading

my level of Cl was at zero, I added alot (green algae), it's benn an hour and the test still says 0. How long should it take to show up? Thanks

Chances are the chlorine is being used up before you have a chance to test. It will react instantly with organic materials. What kind of chlorine do you use and how much did you put in? It would also help to know your chemisty readings.
