Hi,
If you test kit normally shows a yellow color when there is chlorine in the water then the red color means there is lots of chlorine in the water. The level will come down on its own.

ALL BLUE POOLS 602-943-1909
YOU HAVE A REAL SMALL POOL 3 GAL BLEACH WOULD GO FAR ON AN INGROUND POOL
YOU CAN LOWER CHLORINE WITH AMMONIA AND LET IT SET FOR 4 HOURS TO RESET YOU DID NOT STAE HOW BIG THE POOL WAS. GET "AQUQ CHECK" TEST STRIPS WITH A YELLOW CAP AND TEST THEWATER
NO DROPS. ALAN

See this post. Test strips are notoriously inaccurate, most especially for Cyanuric Acid (CYA) levels. The FAS-DPD chlorine test kits are the best -- the Taylor K-2006 and the TF100 from tftestkits.net.
