Is there any other way to lower salt level in pool other than pumping down and adding fresh water.

Sorry but that is the only way to lower the salt level. Just drain out a fourth of the water and refill. Keep doing that until your salt levels are where you want them.

There is always more than one way to do things.
Turn the salt chlorinator to max and run your pump for longer.
That way your actually using the salt, not pouring your money down the drain.

Running the salt chlorinator longer will NOT lower the salt level. When the saltwater chlorine generator (SWG) produces chlorine, it does convert chloride to chlorine, BUT when the chlorine gets used up it converts back to chloride so the net effect is no change in salt level.

Just to be certain its clear: chemgeek is 100% correct. Salt pool owners add salt occasionally because of water loss through splashout, leaks and backwash.
