White powdery residue on walls

Postby fischerhaus2 » Sun 26 Apr, 2009 15:16

We have a 3 year old fiberglass pool and we keep getting a white powdery residue on the walls. When you touch the walls the stuff comes off on your hands. What is that? How can we reduce it?
We take our water samples to Pinch a Penny to maintain the chemicals, but we keep getting different answers about the white stuff.

I am having the same issue, I thought it was the chemicals use but I think it may be the fiberglass pool paint coming off.

can you test your pool water and post the results

most likely cause is calcium, however without seeign the results is kind of like asking how long is a piece of string
Chocolate fish do not swim in hot water
