Brown pool

Stains on the pool surfaces, pool equipment
or on the swimmers, or off-color swimming pool
water. Discolored but clear pool water.

My Pool: hi we had a new chlorinater installed-then pool sides and bottom of pool has turned brown. it is a salt/chlorine pool below ground what can we do to fix this?

hi we have recently had a new chlorinator installed,since then the bottom and sides of pool has turned brown!! What can we do to fix this?? It is a salt/chlorine pool thanks.

The pH probably rose and you probably had iron ions in your pool that then stained the pool surfaces. Lower your pH and use a metal sequestrant. To keep the pH lower for an SWG pool, have the Total Alkalinity (TA) no higher than 70 ppm. See Water Balance for SWGs for more info.

check for the chemical composition in water. Probably the iron content has shot up.
