Stains on the pool surfaces, pool equipment
or on the swimmers, or off-color swimming pool
water. Discolored but clear pool water.

We have a 15' round pool that we set up yesterday. We had our local fire department come and fill it to help save some time. The water is DARK DARK brown, almost like tea. I used some mineral and stain remover and let the pump run all night but no luck! I am scared to use the shock since some people have said it made their pool even worse. Any advice on what to do?! I'm hoping to be able to fix it so I don't have to drain it and fill it with our personal hose.

Where does the fire department source their water (wells are notorious for containing iron)
I suspect that it is iron and it will stain the pool surface
You could try making a filter like this
There are lots more on Google
