Severe black algae stains

Stains on the pool surfaces, pool equipment
or on the swimmers, or off-color swimming pool
water. Discolored but clear pool water.

Severe black algae stains

Postby tholius » Fri 17 Aug, 2018 13:22

I am flipping a home in Phoenix, the pool was left 1/3 full for many months. I drained and *gently* pressure washed the plaster, to see if it was dirt or black algae. The plaster is deeply stained. Will an acid wash clear it up or do I need to re-plaster? Thanks so much for any advice.

I would try the acid wash first and clean/sanitise with chlorine dioxide.
