can de stain my pool

When my pool was opened up this spring the service person inadvertantly connected the filter wrong and the de went into the pool. The pool has a light brown stain. Was this from the de?

i was wondering the same thing. the stains happened right after they started the filter. there had been water in it and was being filled before the filter was turned on with no staining.
