Hi I live in san diego and since we had all the fires here and my pool had about an inch of debris and ash in the bottom the water looks green. I did a complete clean up and ever since (green looking water) chlorine level is at about 5ppm and ph is at about 7.5 any ideas?

Sounds like metals in water if you had no algae before and chemical levels where good. You can buy a bottle of sequestering agent/metal remover & add to water. A sequestering agent combines with metal ions to hold them into solution.
