Scale removal???

Postby pmvinc » Mon 01 May, 2006 18:40

I have what seems to be scale build up in my pool. The pool is on a chlorine generator system (salt system). I just read a posting where it was stated that the only way to remove the scale was with an acid wash??? Can the scale be removed with chemicals??
Thanks in advance.

Try to keep your ph on the low end - 7.0-7.2
Make sure your calcium hardness level is 150-250ppm
The total alk should not go over 100ppm
The scale will begin to soften and regular brushing will help it go away

You can also buy a scale remover and commit lots of elboq w grease. i have white scale on my nice dark blue tile. I bought the house with the pool, but a "pool guy" said that my scale is pretty bad and would take a lot of work, but keeping water level stable and chemical balanced helps prevent it.
