RV antifreeze ok to use in pool lines?

RV antifreeze seems much cheaper (<$4/gallon) than Pool antifreeze when I search (~$10-30/gallon). But this article says they are the same thing.

I have blown out my lines to the point where (unless water gets past the rubber stoppers) they only will have ice chips in them if they freeze. But the skimmer will likely collect water and water might get past the threads.

Does anyone here have any opinions on this?

This article also says the two are the same but just different colors. I agree that blue is better for pools. But I guess if I make an attempt in the spring to recapture the antifreeze with the shop vac, then maybe I don’t need to worry about it.

Looks like the skimmer might be getting stained pink. Maybe not worth the savings. Blue would not be weird since the water looks blue in summer.

I did actually have a bit of a disaster with my brominator. I didn’t clear out all the bromine tablets, and the RV antifreeze mixed with the bromine for a bad chemical reaction. The rubber seal on the brominator lid dried and cracked, and the lid itself got a mess on the underside. I was able to get back up and running with a rubber seal, but will definitely make sure I clear out the bromine this fall. I don’t know if pool antifreeze would have performed any differently.
