Pool: 50,000 litres
Type: In ground
Filter: Sand
Hi,
After getting my (green) pools ph down to 7.6 2 days ago i added 20 litres of liquid chlorine from the pool store.
I was expecting it to go cloudy over night (dead algae) but there is no change. I tried dosing with a copper based algecide this morning but again no change.
I've retested and the pool seems to be holding a high chlorine level, about 10ppm. I shocked again this morning using granules.
Any ideas why it's not going milky? Am i just being inpatient?
I test using DPD tabs and phenol tabs for Ph. I also tried some Aquachek strips (despite everyone saying they are unreliable) and they indicated a CYA of 50 and TA of 100.

Opening Green Pool
Quick update.
I switched the pump off for 12 hours and then vacummed to waste and things are a little clearer ( i can see the bottom step in the shallow end). However the water is still very much green, not milky.
I've reshocked with 10 litres of liquid chlorine.
Am i doing he right thing?
