Keeping Above-Ground Pool Closed This Summer

We have a 15-foot above-ground pool. Because of health issues, we figure we won't be using it much (if at all) this year, and it would probably be better to not open it at all.

How should we approach this? I was thinking of pumping out the remaining water (we lost half the water over the winter), placing a whole bunch of beach balls in the pool to prop up the cover and keep the winter cover on it.

Is there a better way?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the worst thing you can do is empty out all the water.
When you do so - it takes off life of the liner - that and if there is no water to keep the liner down and in place the sun will make the liner shrink, and unusable.

If you do not plan on using it - I would just put on your cover, or leaf net - maybe some chemicles to kill any bugs.

Don't drain it!

The walls will colapse and the liner will shrink!

I'm sure one year closed won't do it too much harm.

Do you plan on opening next year if all goes well?

If not then maybe consider selling it! If you have any offers, tell them they have to take it down.
