Closing for winter but liner has a leak.

We have an inground swimming pool. The liner has to be replaced, it has a leak and it is pulling away from the copling. My question is - Do I winterize and close the pool as usual or should I empty the pool for the winter?

I am assuming that I should close it as usual for the winter.
