8 year old pool rotted away

I bought a 24-ft above ground pool from a local pool and patio center, dont want to mention names. This week I noticed walls caving in, water gone, and large ice deposit on backside of pool. As I was looking around ice I noticed bottom 4 inches of pool wall rotted through, several other spots around perimeter of pool as well. No I did not fill out warranty card, so I know I am s.o.l. there. Just wondering if anyone else experienced a similar problem, or knows of someone who has. Pool was installed properly, walls were well above ground level, cant figure out why this would happen after only 8 years.

I mean rotted away as in like body rot on an old chevy. I have come to the conclusion- in New England POOLS ARE FOR FOOLS!
