Aqua Rite Electronic Chlorine Generator

Postby dollard » Wed 12 Apr, 2017 06:16

I have an Aqua Rite electronic chlorine generator-T cell 9. It has been working well for over 7 years. It worked fine all winter but suddenly isn't procuding any chlorine. I have inspected it on a regular basis and cleaned it a number of times even though I have never seen any scale buildup. The light inspect cell has been flahing for awhile. My salt level is fine. Does anyone know what the life of this cell might be?

I suspect that your SWCG is at the end of its usefull life as they don't last indefinitely
7 years seems a reasonable time
When you replace it make sure you get one that is double your pool size

Thanks but the one I have is quite a bit larger than what I need for my size of pool and I only run it 2 hours a day so the local "expert" said it just needs a good cleaning.

Do you find that 2 hours produces enough chlorine
Normally they aren't used in the winter unless your water is heated or your location is warmer
When you have given it a good clean, post back so that others may benefit from your experience

Where I live in Mexico they are usually used all year.
I had it cleaned by a professional. She soaked it twice in acid and it is working fine now. Almost all the scale is gone.
