Recently, I noticed my Goldline Aqua Rite Salt Chlorine Generator had the "Check Salt" and "Inspect Cell" lights illuminated. Also, the average and instant salt readings are zero. My Solaxx SaltDip tester showed 3800 ppm and I believe that is accurate.
I cleaned my Hayward T-15 salt cell back in March when I opened the pool, but decided it wouldn't hurt to do it again. It appeared clean with no visible scaling. I've tried resetting the unit by holding the diagnostics button for 3-5 seconds. I've also tried to re calibrate the average salt level. The water is 80 degrees and it's showing that on the display. The No Flow light illuminates as it should when I turn off the pump. Super Chlorinate illuminates the light, but it won't illuminate the "Generating" light.
We moved into the house three years ago and I'd guess that the salt cell wasn't new then. Is there anything else I can do or anything I'm overlooking before replacing my T-15?
Is My Salt Cell Bad? Shows 0 Salt
Re: Is My Salt Cell Bad? Shows 0 Salt
It seems, generally speaking, that the salt cells are designed to last around 10,000 hours. What I’ve read is if you were to run a system 100% output, 24/7, that 10,000 hours would be ~2 years.
I have a 17,000 gal pool and HAD a 20,000 gal chlorinator. It lasted 5 years...about normal. I replaced the 20,000 with a 40,000 cell and run the new cell at 25%. Chlorine is perfect and cell doesn’t work as hard.
You may be at the EOL for the cell and, if so, you might consider bumping up your cell capability for longevity.
Hope this helps.

Yes agree, cells have a finite production life and on 100% you may get 5years whereas on 60% you may get 8-10y

Sadly not everyone returns to share their experiences, many just take.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
