installation of a ORP sensor

Postby Ger » Wed 17 Jul, 2019 13:48

I recently replaced the existing Chlorinator with a Davey Ecosalt Redox (MC120RP). This is a chlorinator with an ORP sensor that automatically should keep the Chlorine level at the right level. The sensor however doesn't seem to work. I now get the strange answer from the store I bought the equipment, that the sensor should be installed vertically, while I have installed it horizontally. The attachment shows my installation. They say that I should turn the installation 90 degrees so the sensor is pointing down, but I can't really see why that would make any difference.
Can you share your thoughts about this?

Thanks,

The pipe work may not be 100% full of water, vertically it should be constantly immersed.
