Chlorinator problems

Postby EVPT » Tue 19 Feb, 2008 09:46

We have a large rehab salt water pool and although we have cleaned the chlorinator weekly, and maintain the levels twice daily we can not seem to get the levels stablized at 3-5. The ph is adequate. We have cleaned the chlorinators, shocked the pool 1 weekly we still have to use the tablets weekly often biweekly to keep it stable for swimming purposes. Any ideas?

Have you added conditioner/ stabilizer/ cyanuric acid? You should have a level of 30 - 80 ppm.

Urine and sweat destroy the free chlorine and pools with a high bather load will often need extra chlorine even with a chlorine generator in use.

How big is your pool and which model of chlorinator do you have?
