new salt system

Postby gregg » Mon 18 Aug, 2008 17:15

We have a new inground gunite pool. Been 17 days and now I can turn on the salt system per the builder. Been using a chlorine floater. Put the recommended salt bags in, now I run the pump for 24 hours then set up the salinity control? Its the Jandy 1400 Salt system. The builder used all Jandy equipment. From what I can research it all seems like high quality stuff. Am I correct?

Any tips on starting this up?

put some chlorine in to get it up to the required level
get salt strips to test for salt and get a test kit to test other chemicals
TF Test kit is good.
