By any chance did you swim in a pool that had no Cyanuric Acid (CYA) in it? For example, most indoor pools do not have CYA. Without CYA in the water, the effective "active" chlorine concentration is 10-30 times higher or more. My wife experiences this problem every year when she has to use an indoor pool at a community center during the winter. Her swimsuits lose their elasticity and her hair is more frizzy and skin flaky. When she swims in our own outdoor pool during the summer, none of the problems occur, not even after 5 summer swim seasons.
