I noticed Bromine 50 lbs buckets going over $460 in this past summer while I’d bought it for ~$240 around July 2021. It seemed like it was expensive all year this year, but dropped to $308 after I bought some a few weeks ago for $360. Will it go lower?
When do you buy your chemicals? Are some much more susceptible to seasonal changes? Or is most of it just supply and demand with factories going down throughout the country or world?

I have plenty at the moment but am tempted to buy more because I don’t envision being able to handle draining the pool this year either. I just need a break from projects and have too many others this year. So I may be in for another year of a Bromine pool.

Prices seem to be much lower now. Reverse inflation??
Edit: that was 6/20 and I bought some bromine stuff $275. It’s $290/50lbs now 8/25. Keeping my eyes peeled to see how prices move. Shock and Bromine and water seem to be my biggest pool expenses.

At the beginning of December I bought 50 lbs of Bromine bc the price was around $230-235. Today I noticed it’s under $220, the lowest I’ve ever seen, but then again, I never looked before the pandemic. I think I’ve got 100 lbs which is enough to get me through a year. So I guess there’s no point in buying more bc it’s $10-15 cheaper now. It is worth noting that between Xmas and New Years this lowest ever price appeared.
Re: What time of year do you buy chemicals?
Seeing the 50 lbs buckets of bromine at $219.99 whIke on Amazon for other things makes me tempted to buy more. Never bought it that cheap before, and while I’d love to convert the pool to Salt Water, if it’s going to cost me less than $400/season for bromine, it would be a long time before I break even on the SWCG. https://a.co/d/1jxJCfi
I’ve got at least 50 lbs in the garage right now and I’m wondering just how much of this stuff makes sense to stock up.
