Hi all,
We have had a new pool installed, fiberglass 25000 liters. The water turned green after a few weeks and our friend recommended a "pool guy" to help us out. The pool guy said it was algae and dumped 2 KILOS of copper sulfate in the water. Possibly our pool was his first job. Upon discovering the disaster that he left us with, we started to drain as much water as we felt comfortable with, as many people have mentioned that draining a fiberglass pool is a bad idea. We've been draining in increments of about 10-15% a few times a week. I have done copper test and there is not much change. Our copper levels are still off the copper test chart. Diluting the water in this manner will become incredibly expensive as we'll probably have to fill the pool 2 times to get the copper out.
I have been recommended EDTA. I'm not sure exactly how this would help. Any thoughts on this?
