filter vibration

My husband and I bought a house with a pool that is two years old. The pool was not opened last season and with all the time and effort we put into this darn pool, we finally had it clean (6 weeks). A few days ago we had major algae growth, shocked the pool, ran (cartridge) filter, today it is still green. Now the filter is making a loud high pitched screech. When I push on the top of the filter it stops, but once I let go it continues. It's so loud that I'm afraid it will explode! Please help, I'm so frustrated!

you may need to fix the filter. it may not be working properly. keep shocking and cleaning and filtering.
